The
Odd Couple
written by Neil Simon
April 4th-May 17th
This timeless classic comedy by Neil
Simon has been made into a movie, a television series and most recently
revived on Broadway with Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. It is most
assuredly Simon’s most popular and hilarious play about two newly
divorced men living under the same roof. Oscar Madison and Felix Unger
could not be more dissimilar and their union eventually reaches a fever
pitch, but not before well meaning friends meddle, romance tries to
conquer all and some unsuspecting linguini goes airborne. This season
opener is just the thing to lift the spirits.
Tony and the Soprano;
book and lyrics by
Rachel Lampert and music by Larry
Pressgrove
May
30th-July 12
All Rose wants for her son is what
every Italian mother living in Brooklyn wants; a son with direction and
a career; after all, he IS 35 years old! Why can’t he be like his
best friend Vinny who owns his own restaurant (and owes $50,000.00 to
the mob). Enter Francis, a young soprano from the mid west studying
opera at Julliard who rents the attic room in Rose’s house. Romance,
humor and music abound in this musical homage to Brooklyn, opera,
Italian food and the mob. The Circle Bar B is excited to bring this New
York musical to the west coast.
The
Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 by written John Butler
July
24th-Sept. 6th
The creative team responsible for a
recent Broadway flop (in which three chorus girls were murdered by the
mysterious "Stage Door Slasher") assembles for a backer's audition of
their new show at the Westchester estate of a wealthy "angel." The house
is replete with sliding panels, secret passageways and a German maid who
keeps getting killed. As the composer, lyricist, actors and director
prepare their performance, and a blizzard cuts off any possible retreat,
bodies start to drop in plain sight, masked figures drag their victims
behind swiveling bookcases and accusing fingers point in all directions.
A plethora of Circle Bar B favorite actors deliver a sidesplitting good
time and a generous serving of the author's biting, satiric and
refreshingly irreverent wit. This is not a musical

“A cartoon comedy of great dexterity
and loving warmth."-NY Post
This delightful comedy which starred
the authors on Broadway is about Theda Blau, a failed actress, health
food nut, analyst and would-be playwright who wants to find love and
success in New York, and Vito Pignoli, a hugely successful TV commercial
director. By holding him hostage in her apartment on a snowy evening in
December, she somehow manages to convince him to be her partner both on
the page and off. This unlikely love story is the perfect comfort food
to the end of the season.
